A will and a living will are completely different. A will is a formal document that complies with Colorado state law, which indicates who is to receive your property at your death and who you choose to handle your final financial affairs. A will can also appoint guardians for minor children and may also set up trusts at the time of your death. A will is only in force after your death.

A Living Will is a directive to your doctor concerning your treatment wishes and is only valid while you are still alive.
