Living Will

A Living Will is your statement of intent to your doctors about what treatment you would like to have or like to avoid in the event you are deemed to be in a persistent vegetative state or have a terminal illness and cannot speak for yourself. A living will typically addresses life-sustaining measures like mechanical ventilation and artificial nutrition and hydration. A Living Will only becomes effective 48 hours after two doctors certify that you are in a terminal condition and can’t make your own decisions or you are in a persistent vegetative state.
